I think I’ve only ever had one or two hunter ceiling fans in the houses that I’ve lived in from whatever remember because my current house has one Hunter fan at my old house. I think had a hunter fan.

My hunter Dominion has the same wiring connection system but the way to attach the actual switch cap is pretty standard

I have a hunter Dominion ceiling fan model, but it looks different. Too many of the hundred Dominion models that I’ve seen on the Internet. Do you know why there are two different versions of the same model?

Hunter ceiling fan company has the worst customer service. I bought a Beck 52” directly from Hunter to replace the same ceiling fan in my living room. I have 4 other Beck 52” fans in my house. I had it professionally installed by a licensed electrician who does this for a living. The new fan has a loud humming noise that is obviously not normal. I contacted customer service to see about them sending a replacement fan. Customer service started saying take pictures of the wiring and send it to us. LOL. First of all the fan is installed on the ceiling which I can’t reach. I don’t get on ladders anymore after falling and breaking my ankle. Which led to a blood clot, and then a pulmonary embolism. I still am recovering from my 8th spinal surgery. But Hunter expects me to get on a ladder to take pictures of the wiring. I’ve never seen such piss poor customer service. Hunter must be going through a financial crisis if they can’t send out a replacement ceiling fan. This fan is brand new, but Hunter doesn’t want to stand behind their product. I’m more than happy if they want to send out a technician to look at the fan. DON’T BUY ANY HUNTER PRODUCTS AS THEY DON’T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.

Thanks for the in depth explanation and step by step tutorial. I now know that all I have to do is twist one screw, clip some stuff in and magically I will have a fully functioning ceiling fan

Great video! My Hunter fan is an older model and the Globe recently broke…..it’s no longer available to purchase so I either need to switch to a cap or install a new light fixture….a cap seems more practical.

I purchased the Dempsey (with receiver) to replace my bedroom ceiling light that is controlled by a light switch. From the ceiling, I had a capped off black wire, red, white and ground. If you would like to continue to use your light switch, I would suggest not following the Hunter instructions. If you do, the light switch will now no longer work. There are two way to get this to work properly if you'd like to continue to use your light switch: (1) the light switch controls the fan light and the fan is controlled by the receiver (receiver light control will not work in this configuration), or (2) the light switch controls the entire fan assembly, meaning the light switch has to be in the 'on' position for the fan/light to work, but the receiver will control both the light and fan. I chose #1 because I'd like to continue to use the light switch for the room/fan light. I did this by connecting the red wire from the ceiling to the blue wire from the fan housing and capped off the blue on the receiver. If you'd like to setup like #2, you would have to connect the red from the ceiling to the black on the receiver and cap off the black form the ceiling. Hope this helps others because Hunter had no information for this that I could find.

Hey. My mom just got her fan and it was working all night till she tried to show me in the morning and I went to go look at the fan but it was dark so went to turn the lights on but it turned the fan off and now it won’t turn back on. Please help

I had to order a $12 replacement piece of plastic because the Hunter Fan I purchased did not have this included in my original purchase, but unfortunately, the order was stolen off my front porch. I attempted to resolve this with customer service, but they told me that they couldn't help me and I needed to open a police report and just buy a new one. I've emailed them back two times politely asking them to reconsider and at a minimum offer me a discount code. They ignored me. I'm honestly getting disgusted with Hunter Fans at this point. We just bought 5 Hunter Fans for a house remodel and this was the second one with an issue (the first's internal remote control was broken). Both times I reached out to Hunter's customer support and they wouldn't help me, told me I just need to RE-BUY the parts that were an issue. My boyfriend insisted that we needed to buy Hunter because of their high quality, but I'm disgusted by the overall process, I should have bought another brand.

When you have black, red and white wires, and nothing in the instructions tells you to use the red wire for anything....

Where's the part about how the remote receiver fits into the box/bracket with all that wire. I just returned the ceiling fan to Lowe's because of two things, once you installed the downrod into the bracket, the decorative collar what's the high to the ceiling that it only left you about an inch to get your fingers in there and connect wires much less squeeze the remote receiver into the same area. I really couldn't even fit the remote receiver in after taking everything out of the bracket.

I have an issue where the light only works if the fan is running. No way to only have the lights on with fan off.
